Paid Account
So I just checked out the information on getting a paid account. Think I'm gonna do it. Really should do it actually. If I don't do it this week, I will definitely do it over the Christmas hols. And I certainly need to learn more about changing the look of my journal. I am new to this, so bear with me. I want it to look great, but right now it is very blah. Someday I shall be good at this.

Hello, new friend! ♥

Welcome to LJ! Paid accounts are definitely cool stuff. And here's some things I've seen other newbies ask. I call it "Tam's Top 5 LJ Code-y Things." Er, for lack of a better name. If you already know them (and I see you know how to do a link, so you're already much more accomplished than I was when I began), then please forgive my presumptuousness. (Is that a word?) Take out all parentheses and spaces from code. (Include spaces that appear inside parentheses, such as (a href). ;)

1. Reference another user, such as eckerlilas
We're always doing this because... I don't know, we're narcisstic or something. Or pimpy. Whatever.
Code: (<) (lj user=) ("enterusernamehere") (>)

2. LJ-Cut
This is how you make part of an entry "go away" so that it's only visible when people clickey.
Code: (<) (lj-cut text=) ("enter link name here, spaces OK") (>)
Code to end cut: (<) (/) (lj-cut) (>)

3. Little bitty text
Want to not quite say something?
Code: (<) (small) (>)
Code to end small: (<) (/) (small) (>)
You can do the same using the word "big."

4. Link to another LJ entry.
You already know this, I think. So I figured I'd just use this one to pimp my fave self-written smutfic. *sheepish*
Code: (<) (a href=) ("http) (://www.) (livejournal) (.com) (/username/entrynumber) (.html") (>) (enter name of link here, spaces OK) (<) (/a) (>)

5. AND NOW FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT:
How to make hearts. (♥)
Type: (&) (hearts) (;)

Like I said, ignore me if you knew all this. These are the five things I wish someone had told me when I started an LJ. ;)

And by the way, CONGRATULATIONS on the marriage! :D

Thanks! And no, you aren't being presumptuous (yes, a word). I can certainly use the help. Right now my LJ is so boring and blah and I haven't even posted anything original or siteworthy really. But I will someday. Any help or support you want to offer is much appreciated. I don't really know anything yet.

I thank you also for accepting the friending. I have lurked on your pages for a while (yours, and others) and finally got myself a livejournal.

And thanks for the congrats on my marriage. Its still so new and weird and hard to believe I have a new name! hehe. Hope you and I can become friends.

I have said thanks too many times in this post, but again thanks! *grins*

I told myself, and most everyone who would listen, that I was going to buy a paid account over the Christmas hols. Well, that never happened. But I shall soon.

I really really want one!
